In her presentation, Bettina provides insight into Greiner Packaging’s innovative barrier technologies and examines developments that support the transformation of the plastic packaging industry into a circular economy.
For many years, controversial issues in the fields of the environment, resources and health have led to the development of new products and materials in the packaging industry, while, at the same time, a great many preservatives are added to food to ensure it meets requirements pertaining to shelf life. The barrier technologies from Greiner Packaging make it possible to prevent or delay the food’s contact with water vapor or oxygen inside the packaging, thus lengthening the shelf life of food products considerably, without adding any preservatives at all.
